So what can I compare RS3 with these days from the other competitors in the MMO market? Honestly: not much. Truthfully I believe it’s quite consistent to what it originally released as: a grindy rpg with puzzle and adventure based questing (not bring me 10 rat kidneys with no canonical continuity) in an open world. So Runescape, or the most current version which I will be referring to RS3 from here onwards, has come a long way since it’s humble beginnings. Or maybe even this is you’re as old as me (very bloody old): RS Classic circa 2001 However this is still a far cry away from what you’re most likely to remember runescape as which would be this, the current 2007 snapshot: 2007 Scape, screencap of B0aty’s stream as of 10th January 2017
Grindy games like runescape full#
In the interest of objectivity (as this is what this blog is all about) full disclosure here is that this is one of the most recent additions to the game and as such will look slightly better than some of the older parts that have been around for over a decade: Varrock Square RS3 NXT client as of 10th January 2017 Well…….yes in a way, that’s one of the versions of the game which is still alive and kicking but the other version (which I will be focusing on) looks a little like this: Memorial to Guthix, released on 9th January 2017 Runescape? What’s that? Isn’t that the game where you mine for fish and burn logs for no reason and it looks like some toddler made it using Microsoft Paint?
